In-Home Care
In-Home Care Townsville
Townsville’s endless sunshine and strong community make it a great place to live. But you might not want to live here in a group home or a nursing home. You might want to live in your own home.
Home is a place of safety, comfort and independence. If you’re getting older or living with a disability, you might need some support to help you keep living in your own home. We can help you with that.
Benefits of In-home Aged Care Townsville
There’s a lot of work involved in running a home. Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, disinfecting, food shopping, cooking and washing up takes a lot of energy each day.
If you’re less steady on your feet now, then it might be getting difficult to shower safely or dress without a bit of help. And if you’re taking multiple medications, you may benefit from someone helping you to take them at the right time each day.
In-home care is the answer.
When you’re not carrying the burden of household chores, you have more energy for the things that bring you real joy.
When someone’s helping you to get to your social activities, you feel more connected.
When someone’s helping you to maintain your health and hygiene, you feel stronger and happier.
In-home aged care can include a wide range of services depending on your need.
It can cover:
Household chores, maintenance and modifications
Personal care such as showering and dressing
Supporting your health, such as managing medications
Travel assistance to get you to health appointments or social activities.
In-Home Aged Care Townsville
Focused Health Care is an agile family business not a big, inflexible bureaucracy. We’ve designed our procedures around your needs with policies like a 1-hour minimum shift that lets you spread a few hours of care across the week rather than using it all up in one go.
We’re run by Registered Nurses, meaning you don’t have to choose between clinical skill and compassionate care: we offer both.
We want you to feel comfortable with your carers so we work hard to match you with a small, consistent team who share your interests or get your sense of humour.
MY PLACE
MY WELLBEING
MY COMMUNITY
If you’re new to in-home aged care, we can help you understand the different funding options available and to clarify your needs. Then we work with you to provide you with reliable, high quality care that supports your independence and maintains your wellbeing. One way to access these services is through a home care package.
In-home Disability Care (NDIS) Townsville
Focused Health Care is here to support you as you live your life, complete your education, do your job or pursue your interests alongside living with a disability.
The nature of your disability may make it very difficult for you to stay on top of household chores or maintain your personal hygiene and grooming. With the right support though, you can live independently.
In-home carers can help you to:
- Keep your home clean, tidy and in good repair
- Keep your body clean and healthy by helping with meals, medicines and therapy
- Stay connected to your community by getting to social activities.
Focused Health Care is here to help you
We’re a registered provider under the NDIS, meaning we meet safety and quality standards for providing services to people with a disability.
If you have an NDIS Plan, you can use your NDIS funding to access our services. If you don’t, you can come as a private client or, if you’re eligible, we can help you apply for NDIS funding.

Respite Services for Carers
It’s OK to need a break
Caring for someone is a labour of love. You may be providing intense, round-the-clock support or you may be popping in on a regular basis. You may be cooking and delivering meals, cleaning up, or helping your loved one bathe and dress.
You do it for love. But it is hard work too. From time to time, you need a break to refresh yourself. That’s where our respite care service comes in.
Focused Health Care provides respite care across Brisbane to give carers a much-needed breather, knowing that your loved one is in good hands.
We can:
- Do the day-to-day tasks that you normally do for your loved one
- Take care of meal preparation
- Help your loved one with personal care
- Provide some social activities
- Stay overnight so you can get some uninterrupted sleep, either in your own bed or by treating yourself to a night in a hotel.
Our respite services can be used at short notice on those times when it all gets too much. However, if you can, we do encourage you to plan your regular respite to refresh and sustain yourself. Taking care of yourself and recharging helps you to be a better carer in the long run.
